Yoga has many aspects and exercises and among them, Pranayam stands out for dealing with breathing. Yoga and Pranayam are synonymous to each other in many ways, as breathing is the backbone of yoga. In Pranayama, practitioners are told to control prana or life force using either breathing techniques or regulating the breathing. There are many ways in which Pranayama is done to regain full health or life.

In this form, deep breathes are taken and then released between duration of 2-5 minutes. It benefits the heart, lungs, brain and neural system besides treating depression, migraine and paralysis.
Kapal Bhati Pranayam
The air is taken out forcefully, making the stomach to go in. Done between 1-5 minutes and for 20-30 minutes, it brings perfect health by solving troubles like obesity, acidity, stomach problems, constipation, gastric etc.
In Baharya Pranayam, the air is first breathed out, and then the chest is touched with the chin, followed by squeezing of the stomach to hold for a while before releasing chin and breathing in leisurely.

Anulom Vilom Pranayam
In this Pranayam, the right and left nasal are respectively held one after another and the breathing is done through the other nasal. It’s very beneficial for heart, asthma, sinus etc.
After closing the ears with thumb and having put the index finger on the forehead, let the rest three fingers be put on the base of the nose to breathe in and then breathe out by murmuring like a bee.
